On top is Bronx Science’s mascot, a wolverine. The student organization is having a naming contest for the mascot. I’m submitting the name of one particular character: Worf (bottom). I just sent the email with the following:
I would like the name the mascot Worf after the Lieutenant Commander Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Worf is the tactical officer on the USS Enterprise and the only Klingon in Starfleet. The Klingons are a very aggressive warrior race, but Worf, although he adheres to many of the traditions of his origins, is different. Since he was raised by human parents, Mr. Worf often finds himself conflicting with his Klingon heritage. Worf shows a different perspective on the world and has a unique humanity within him. Throughout the series, he faced many hardships including his discommendation (shunned by all other Klingons due to his father’s accused crime). He was patient and waited for the right time to regain his honor. If the mascot was named after Lt. Commander Worf, it would represent more than just strength and assertiveness; it would embody honor, individuality, perseverance, and loyalty.
He kind of resembles a wolverine too.
